Question I need to purchase ice cream for 500. Is there a resource that says an average scoop is x ounces and you need to by x gallons to serve 500.
Thanks.

Answer Hi Randy! An average scoop (serving) of ice cream is 1/2 cup (4 oz.).A gallon is 128 oz., so you would get 32 servings out of a gallon if you served each person a 1/2 cup. Therefore, you would need about 15.6 gallons to feed 500 people. I'd play it safe and get 16 gallons. Hope this helps!
