Subject: full scholarship
Question QUESTION: I am Ayush Khaitan, and recently won a full scholarship from India to study in Singapore in an IB school. I want to study in MIT with the aid of a full scholarship. How do I go about it? I was interested in working for NASA.
ANSWER: Apply to MIT through the regular admissions process. If you are admitted, they will offer you a scholarship based on financial need. MIT's website has further information.

QUESTION: But are need-based scholarships full? What criterion do I have to fulfil in order to get an attractive scholarship?
ANSWER: You did not say if you are applying to MIT as an undergrad or as a grad student. Undergrads are admitted independent of financial need. There is no limit to needs-based scholarships and they are never full. MIT is committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial aid for admitted students.
Grad school, in addition to needs-based scholarships, also has RA and TA positions, plus grants.
The only criteria you need for an attractive scholarships are (1) to get admitted and (2) to have financial need.

QUESTION: I'm applying for an undergraduate course. Can you please give me the link to MIT's requirements? First you said that need-based scholarships are never full. Then you went on to say that MIT is committed to meeting 100% of the financial aid for students. I'm not sure I comprehend this contradiction.
Answer Mit meets 100% of demonstated financial need. We never run out of scholarship money - that's what I meant when I said the program doesn't get "full."

******************
The admissions rate for international students for the MIT undergraduate program is very, very low. About 3% of applicants are admitted. So make sure to apply to other universities, too. The admit rate is so low because international students are limited to 8% of the incoming freshman class, and we get many, many applicants.
