Question
Hi Zira my godmother recently had a stroke which paralyzed her left side and affected the left side of her brain to where she can no longer speak. I am currently taking my first Swedish massage course and learning about how we as massage therapists can heal our clients and i would like to know if she can receive massage from a therapist even though she is currently taking the blood thinner Crumaden. My family and I would like to know...

Answer
Hi Chelsea.

In all honesty the answer to your question is up to her doctor. You will require a dr note in order to do the massage. The reason being that her doctor has to be aware of what type of treatment she will be recieving and has to decide whether or not it would be wise to proceed. If you do the massage DO NOT use deep pressure as this will cause damage to the blood vessels.
