Massage - which oil to use?

Expert: Zira - 11/6/2009

Question
i would like to know whether olive oil is good to massage my four month old baby? otherwise which oil will be good for her?

Answer
Hi Sumi,

I would actually use non scented baby oil for your baby. Just incase your baby is allergic to olive oil. Also a coconut oil is fine too as long as the baby doesn't have any nut allergies. Coconut oil is soild so you have to microwave it to melt it into the oil and this way the oil is warm so it is more soothing. Baby oil in my exerpience doesn't heat up that well and the coconut oil feels so much nicer even though it is thicker.
