Massage - Neck Injury

Question
4 months ago, I was playing american football and I butt-blocked an opponent. I was running towards them, kept my neck strong and knocked them over. However, my neck took the impact whilst remaining at the exact same angle of contact. The pain was bad, I had to come off and haven't played football since. Now, my neck aches, often needs to be cracked to relieve pressure. What can I do?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Mat,

First i would go to the doctor and ask for x rays. This will show whether or not the bones are in alignment. You can also go see a chiropractor or massage therapist. If chiro makes you nervous then go see a massage therapist. All they can do from there is different tests and hopefully help alleviate the problem.
