Question
Hi,
I was just wondering whether you can give me any more information in regard to physical therapy and what are the differences between it and all the other types of therapies out there. I am doing an assignment for a physio and am just trying to get my head around what a physio does and how it differs from say a massage therapist and others like an osteopath, homeopath, naturopath, podiatrist and chiropractor. I have done research through Google and was wondering whether you can tell me what you think or give me some websites to view so I can get a thorough understanding of what a physio does.

Also is a physio and physician? I assume physician is the broad name while physio is the specialist just like naturopath, podiatrist etc are specialists. I would appreciate if you could help me and give me an understanding.
Thank You

Answer
Hi James.

A physio is not a doctor. A phyiso rehabs the body physically whether it be through stretching or muscle stregthening technique. Thats about as much about physio as i know. I'm a massage therapist and I don't work with physios all that often or pretty much ever.  Hopefully I gave you some info to help you.

Have a nice day,

Zira
