Question Hi Joshua.
On a Mazda 626, 2.5l V6. This car has a serviceable transmission filter. What is the rule for changing the trans fluid on this tranny? Some say do a fluid exchange while others say a fluid may damage the transmission, and in that case you should only prop the pan and fill with new fluid.
Also, should the filter be changed when doing fluid exchange, or just when dropping the pan.
Thanks for the help.
Answer if your popping the pan off you should also change the filter your there any ways. as long as you use the right fluid everything should be ok. when replacing the gasket make sure to clean the mounting surface with the right tool don't use a putty knife or other tool. and don't over tighen the dolts or you'll pinch the gasket causing it to leak
