i myself own a 1993 626 and have done alot of work to it.
such as a motor,tranny removal/install. timing belt replacement, suspention, exhaust, whell bearing, interior and exterior panel removal/replacement, alternators, starters, distrubutors,and much more
Experience i've been an active automotive hobbiest for about 10 years know, i have also completed 2 semesters of automotive repair, and have 2 years of automotive shop experience. if for any reason i'm unable to help you with a question i'll take it apon myself to do the best i can to help you find the answer.
Question I'm trying to help my son replace the timing belt on his 1993 626. Is there an easy way to do this. What is the correct procedure. The head is off because we need to replace one of the cams.
Any tricks that you know about that will make replacing the timing belt easier.
Which wasy do we turn the Nut. Left or right?

Answer disconnect battery
loosen water pump pulley bolts remove the drive belts remove pulley
position #1 piston at top dead center
loose but don't remove RF lug nuts
apply parking brake block rear wheels raise front of car remove RF wheel
remove R inner fender splash panel
support engine from underneath
remove spark plugs
remove drive belt tensioner
disconnect crank sensor temp gauge sender and two ECT sensor connectors label and position aside
remove crankshaft pulley power steering pulley
remove timing belt cover
remove oil dipstick
make sure crank and camshaft pulley marks are aligned
remove tensioner arm
remove belt
install is reverse

note: the head doesn't have to be removed to replace the cam and make sure all lifters are put in there orinal positions damage can result if this is not done
