Mazda Repair - 1994 protege clutch noises

Expert: joshua thorndyke - 1/2/2009

Question
I hear chattering noises coming from the trans area, the noises go away when I push in the clutch. Someone told me it could be the throwout bearings?? If so is it hard to repair??

Answer
any tranny job can be hard if your not mechanically inclinded. and some models require special tools. it's not an inpossible job to do by the do it yourselfer but keep in mind this job could take even the well mechanically inclinded do it yourselfer a whole weekend to do maybe even longer. i reccomend buying the repair manual as you'll need to know what to take off when and inspection tips as long as the book gives you torque specs also
