Question Is there multiple speed for driver side fan on 90 miata/manual. How can I check to see if it's hooked up correctly?
Answer The driver side fan is the main cooling fan. It has one speed and cycles as directed by the ECU based on the temperature sensor and AC usage. It is common for 12 volt fan motors to fail yet still spin, in other words the motor does not have the ability to make power but, the armature is still delivering enough power to rotate the motor. If it is working properly the motor will pull air and flow will be obvious as felt coming out of the shroud. If not a new motor is likely the solution.
