Mechanical Engineering - Abaqus CAE

Expert: Aroosh Shahbazian - 12/20/2006

Question
Maybe a simply question.
How do I control the thicknes position when using
shell parts in modelling in Abaqus.
(Default the shell model line is in the middle of the
plate, but I would like it to be at one side of the plates.
Thankyou.

Answer
NOT FAMILIAR WITH ABAQUES, BUT IN GENERAL MOLD-LINE GEOMETRY SHOULD BE AT THE CENTER OF THE THICKNESS AND IF YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE POSITION OF IT YOU NEED TO MODIFY THE GEOMETRY. YOU CAN SEND ME YOUR 3D MODEL AND THEN I MAY BE ABLE TO HELP MORE. SEND IT TO B747US@PACBELL.NET
