Medical College of Georgia - which class to take

Expert: J.P. Saleeby, MD - 12/19/2005

Question
Hello, I am a pre-med student who is wondering about which honors class would be better for me to take in terms of improving my chances to getting into med school. Both my chemistry and spanish teachers suggested I take the honors course for the spring term, but both teachers are horrible, but it is much harder to get an A in the chemistry one( I also plan on minoring in spanish). So which one do you think I should take?

Thank you

Answer
Michael,

Really when it comes down to it... honor classes don't weigh in a lot.  It is better to get an A in a regular Chemistry class then suffer a B or C in a Honors Class not matter what the subject.  Bottom line.. do whatever it takes to get you the hightest GPA.  Even if there are a few 'basket weaving' classes in the bunch.  Would take whatever class you like and enjoy and best bet to bring home a better grade.
