Medical Malpractice/Arachnoiditis

Question
Ed,

I noticed that you responded to a question some time ago about a patient that developed arachnoiditis. I have finally, after 5 years been diagnosed by the Neurosurgery team at Mayo as having Arachnoiditis in addition to failed back surgery syndrome. I had a surgeon on my back that screwed up just about every aspect of my surgeries but just about every attorney has a conflict with suing him since he has a million patients here in Sacramento. My question is- Is arachnoiditis a condition that the dr can be held accountable for? I am not sure if the surgeon or a radiologist that preformed a spinal tap a few years ago caused it but now I am in worse pain then I was before the surgeries.

Answer
The answer is that sometimes they may be...it all depends on the circumstances involved.

Here is an article that I hope you find useful.
