Question My father died of what I and everyone I talk to , believe was negligence . After a successful heart operation the hospital took several days to find out that my dad wasn't passing any waste because of a kink in his intestine . By then he went into a sepsis state and died. How do I find a great lawyer and being in Ohio how fast do we have to move ? Thanks
Answer Bill,
There are a number of places to find the best malpractice attorney. You can try the Ohio State Bar, the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), or the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBOTA). Find out who is certified in civil trial work. Another way is by word of mouth and by checking on the attorney's references.
I cannot give you legal advice which includes the statute of limitations in Ohio since I am not licensed to practice law in that State. I also do not know if the hospital was related to a governmental entity. You have a limited time to file a claim so I suggest you act urgently.
I am sorry to hear about your father. I hope you have success in finding counsel with whom you feel comfortable.
