Subject: sweating problem

Question
hi,
i have a sweating problem and have been suffering for about 3 years.
i have tried quite a few deodorants and have been to the doctors and nothing was prescribed.
it is really affecting my confidence and social life. it takes a long time to get ready in the morning as i have to see if the item of clothing will show sweat.

basically:
i can't control the sweat from my armpits and none of the deodorants i have tried have worked.

i was hoping you would be able to tell me a deodorant i could try or a cure of some kind to stop me from sweating this much.

please help me as i am only 16 and it is really getting me down.

your faithfully,
Mell

Answer
Hi Mell and thanks for writing,

You may be someone who needs more than an over-the-counter deodorant so you need to go discuss your situation with your family doctor and see if you have Hyperhidrosis (a fancy word for excessive sweating which may require medical treatment).

Wishing you all the best,
Margot
