Subject: Son has bites on head

Question
My son appears to have bug bites on his head that are leaking a yellowish fluid. They are itchy, and all over-about 20-30 of them on his little 2 year old head. He also has mosquito bites on his body but they do not look similar. Me or my husband do not have these bites in our hair, and I cannot find any info online about this. Have you any answer for us?

Answer
Hi Jennifer,
This may be either a case of skin infection or a case of bug bite. A skin specialist will be able to distinguish and give advice. Consult a skin specialist and not a pediatrician for this. Check your mattress and bed thoroughly for bugs. If the bugs did not bite you or your husband, then this may not be a case of bugbite.

Let me know the result.
regards,
