I had a similar experience; however, on a much lower dose of Effexor and a lower dose of alcohol.  I took 150 mg of Effexor and drank 1 beer only.  Six hours later (after drinking several non-alcoholic beverages, and eating quite a bit) I was pulled over while driving.  I was given a breathalyzer and told that I blew over by 3X.  I told the officer it was impossible, but he simply replied by telling me his equipment was "fool-proof".  To this day, I am not sure what happened.  I have been researching the effects of Effexor on alcohol.  Thus far, I have only found data to support that Effexor DOES NOT increase blood alcohol levels.

I can often help you find reliable on-line information resources in the health sciences. Whether you are a patient, professional or a researcher, I`ll give it a try. I have limited the number of questions to which I can respond because I cannot check e-mail every day. I do try to spend time researching each answer so responses may not be immediate.
