Question I am a consumer only. I discovered a new use for a prescription drug that Lilly Research Labs marketed in the USA several years ago, but now no longer does. I discovered this many years ago and forgot the name of the drug, but then discovered it again recently.
This new use discovery is going to give this drug new life...big market here in USA for what I know it does.
I tried contacting Eli Lilly, but no means did i find for discussing this discovery with anyone, and i do want something from this...a financial award or something...so i am not giving the name of the drug without some protection.
WHAT DO I DO???? lol.
Thank you!
Answer If you are a consumer and not in the medical profession, I suggest you speak to a doctor or go to your local medical center that does research. Make an appointment with the research doctor in the feild in which your use for this substance is used. There is such a name for use of a drug that is used for a different purpose called, "off label". Any drug that is approved for one purpose can be used for something else. However, to make a case for the new use, one must have scientific research studies to prove the advantage of the new use.
I am also thinking of why the pharmacutical company is not making this drug any longer. Is it due to adverse effects or did they loose the patten?
For now, with the information you gave me, this is all I can suggest.
I do hope this helps and do not hesitate to write to me again if you have further questions.
Best of luck to you.
On a further note: You may want to discuss this with an attorney. Perhaps a pattonn attorney.
This way, you can protect any interest you have or may have.
