Question
Where can I find a list of medical device products beginning from the very first one manufactured to the newest one manufactured?

Answer
Valerie

A list of medical devices, from the beginning, can probably be found in medical history books. I would start by visiting any local medical school or hospital library. The history of medical devices is interwoven with the overall history of human medicine which dates back thousands of years.
A search on the internet will yield a lot of material such as http://www.medicalantiques.com/. Try contacting such institutions as Museum of the History of Science, Oxford England;Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza, Florence Italy. These are joined on a single web site at http://www.mhs.ox.ac.uk/epact/museums.asp
Another meuseum is at http://www.usyd.edu.au/macleay/csciinst.htm#csciinsttop and should provide you with material.
For more modern references you should try contacting the US FDA at www.fda.gov. The can probably provide you with a history of medical devices over the past century as the increasing complexity of devices lead to the creation of the FDA agency.
There is a monthly publication that you can consult for medical device information. Some of the articles may have historical accounts. The web site is http://www.devicelink.com/mddi/
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help.
