Subject: How to Start a medical supply business

Question
Dear Sir,
I live in Baltimore, Maryland and i would like to start a medical supply business posibly do some importation but don't know how to go about it please i need ur help.

Thanks.
Femi.

Answer
Starting a medical supply business is like any other business except you will need to have a Medicare license if you plan to sell directly to patients and bill the government for Medicare/Medicaid patients.

As for importation, that is more complex and requires that you assure the product can be legally sold in the USA.  That will likely mean that you will need to submit the appropriate information to the FDA and take responsibility for problems once distributed.  This is much more involved and complicated than the medical supply business where you are essentially a distributor/retail business.
