Question I am writing in concern of my mother just got approved for Medicare Share of cost in Orlando, FL. It turns out that she is unable to find a Doctor who will provide her with service because there is no proof she actually has this coverage. I have tried calling Medicare and left messages but I cannot seem to get through to anyone. Can you help direct me in a way to find a physican who will provide her with service .
Answer Hi Joyce
Her Medicare card is proof of coverage under Medicare and most doctors accept it. If she is in original Medicare, the card from the plan she has for the plan issuing the Medigap policy is usually accepted
If she has decided to go the Medicare
advantage route, the card from the plan is accepted by doctors under the plan. A list of the doctors was provided her. If the plan is a private fee for service plan, the doctor calls the plan if he wants proof of coverage.
