Question I was approved for Qmb 8/08 and Have Medicare as of 08/08.I live in Florida While visiting my sister in Kentucky,I had an emergency visit to the hospital.I am recieving bills from the hospital and doctors for balances after Medicare has paid their portion.Am I responsible for these balances or does Medicaid pay for this?
Answer Medicaid is state specific and you are covered by Medicaid in FL and not in KY. Since this was an emergency (and they will decide if it is really an emergency) then FL may pay but you should contact the hospital billing office and talk to them.
