Question As of 01/01/2010, I will be covered under medicare. I would like to know that since I also have Blue Choice HMO, will there be a copay. My company that I retired from requires me to get part b from medicare and I was hoping the additional cost for medicare would take care of my copays. I am an ATT retiree if that helps. Also, if I get part d and have additional prescription insurance, can I file both to cover the copays on my medicine?
Answer There is no reason to have an HMO as secondary coverage..in fact, they probably would not let you. You need a secondary insurance to pick up the 20% that Medicare does not pay..You can only use one drug plan.
See if yo can convert your Blue plan to a Medigap plan.
