About Tricia
Expertise Has your medical insurance company denied your claim and refuses to pay? Have
you received a pre-authorization and still your insurance company
refuses to pay? How can you get your insurance company to reverse a
denied claim? How do you get a provider to waive your copayment if you
are financially unable to pay? Can a provider sue you for a unpaid bill and
will they? Can a provider send me to a collection agency for a medical bill?
If my insurance company does not pay, am I responsible? If you have these questions or others on why your insurance company is not paying your bills, I can help. I can give you "tricks of the trade" to get your insurance company to pay.
I have limited knowledge on Medicare and Medicaid and that is not my expertise. Each state is very different regarding Medicare and Medicaid so you need to review their website when you have questions. So please no Medicare or Medicaid questions!!
Experience In the medical field for over 20 years spending majority of time in the collections aspect.

Question My wife is pregnant with our first child, she is due in March 2010. The company I work for, and have my med. insurance through, has had some financial troubles, claimed bankruptcy, splitting off into multiple companies. The plan is a high deductible with a Medical savings account. So far, their answer to what, if any, insurance will be available, is that they "hope" they can offer a plan for 2010.
So my question is: Is there anything that can protect me, or is my child going to be born with no insurance. Does COBRA cover something like this? If so, does my MSA money just disappear? Even with COBRA, without the money in the msa, it would be basically worthless, as the 3k deductible wouldn't be much better than no insurance. Any suggestions on programs I can look into? I am in Utah if that has any bearing. Thanks for any info you can provide
Answer Hi Carter!
Cobra is usually offered when you leave the employment of a company not while you are still there and not all states require companies to offer it.
Your best bet would to look for perhaps clinics in your area. There are many hospitals that also have reduce plans for pregnancies. So check with your local hospitals to see if there is anything around.
Good Luck!
