Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance, HMO problems - medicare/medicaid

Question
If a patient has medicare covered services only thru the medicaid program and medicaid does not pay anything on the claim, can we bill the patient?

Answer
Hi Gayle.  Thanks for the question.  If your physicians agree to accept Medicaid as payment in full then you should watch the R&S statement from Medicaid to see if the patient is billable.  Most Medicaid guidelines say that you cannot bill the patient.  The R&S should tell you if you can bill the patient or not.

Good luck!

Thanks,
LaShunda
