Question In my craft class for college we were given the task to select a subject (historically based) and find the debate in the field about that subject. Since I was young I have always wanted to learn about Charles The Great (Charlemagne). I have found a few debates but I am looking for the home run. Must be able to find plenty of primary sources. Secondary sources on Charlemagne are plentiful but primary sources must feed into the debate aspect of the project. Please help or I will have to find another subject but I would really like to stick with this one.

The good news about Charlemagne is that he had a contemporary biographer, Einhard, who wrote THE LIFE OF CHARLEMAGNE. So, that is the best primary source available for anyone interested in Charlemagne.
