Medieval History/What Did They Wear?

Question
Hello,
I was wondering, what did people in the Medieval times wear to go to bed?
(For both women & men).
Thanks,

Suze.

Answer
Hello Suze,
Only the very wealthy would have had clothing made just for sleeping in.  In general, they slept in their CHEMISE or SMOCK, which was like a shirt worn next to the skin under their daily wear.  Here is a fairly accurate description on wikipedia.com:

i hope this is helpful, Deb
