Question I recently purchased a 1986 Mercedes 420 SEL Gas car that sat for two years. When I looked at the car I dumped about 8 gal. of new gas and poured some gas down the throttle body and was able to get the car started but it would die.
I got the car home and changed the fuel filter, and purged the line as best as I could. When I pour a shot glass in the throttle body I can get the car to run for 15 seconds or so then it dies. I don't know if I should pull the injectors out and clean them. I can't find a fule line that comes form the back with high pressure eventhough there are two pumps. I am an old school carb guy, but I will fix the car with out taking it to a dealer.
Any help would be appreciated
