Question The door on my 1987 mercedes benz has no obvious screws to be able to remove the car door panel. Do you know how to remove the panel so it doesn't get torn up? Thank You
Answer Good morning Sara!
On removing the door panel. Find the interior door panel and remove the little black plastic piece in behind it with a small flathead scewdriver. Then take the little chrome or black horseshoe looking piece off at the most rear of the door around the latch. Underneath the armrest should be a phillips screw and takes a big screwdriver and alot of torque to remove.Pop the interior light out of the bottom of the panel. There should be an indention where you put the screwdriver to remove.Pop the little pieces off the seat switch one at a time,When doing this , apply even pressure on these little buttons or you will break the switch. Then remove the clip on the seat switch cover. There maybe a small phillips screw that holds this cover on too. Some have them and some dont. on the armrest that goes up to the door handle there is a 10 mm bolt that has to be removed. I dont know the model of your car, so you may have a speaker in the door. Remove the visible little screws.
Then you will need a door panel remover to pop the little clips off in between your door panel and door. When you finally have everything off and the door panel swings, Lift up on the panel and it should come loose. Then before dropping door panel, look in behind it and see if anything else is attached. Installation is just reverse. I would send you some pics of this operation but have not got the program to do so. Thanks and i hope this helps! Ricky
