Mercedes Benz repair - Hood latch cable

Expert: Ricky Higdon - 4/28/2008

Question
I have a 1975 Mercedes 300D the hood latch cable broke or pulled out of the latch and I cannot open the hood.  How do I get it open for the repairs.

Answer
Greetings Len!
On this car you will have to get a pair of pliers and pull the cable from inside the car just in behind the latch. you can then make repairs as needed after doing this. You may need a new cable with the new latch now depending on how hard you had to pull the cable to unlatch the hood. Thanks and i hope this helps! Ricky
