Question my mechanic says the viscous fan clutch is leaking and needs to replaced. Need I do it, tell me why, what does it do, what might I anticipate to pay? is it urgent?

Answer Good Morning Vernessa! You may want to go ahead and let someone fix that. If it looses all the oil and locks up, it could throw it and go through your hood, radiator, or worse, hurt someone.
A new one is around 300.00. you may pick up a used one for around 100. Thanks and what year of car,and model is that?
