I had the exact same problem on my 1983 380 SL. i did remove and check the switches for power. There was no power there. The problem is coming from the fuse box. I had to jump another source of power to the fuse for the windows. This worked.

Frequently the problem is the relay which is located on your car behind the kick panel under the dash on the passenger's side.
