Question
I am doing a science fair project about iron fortified foods, and have a couple questions.  Is ferrous fumarate magnetic? What is "reduced iron" and is it magnetic? Thank you!

Answer
Dear Allison,
Reducing iron is done to remove suphur from it . In this process carbidic slag is formed which coverts certain oxidised elements like chrome. manganese back into the iron and removes suphur from iron.Yes, it is magnetic provided you don't add nickle @8% to it.
