Metallurgy/St 52 NBK
I have read a material name St 52 NBK. I want to know about its properties & any equivalent to it? What stands here for NBK?
Thanks & Regards,
The NBK following the grade name indicates that the steel is furnished in the normalized condition (annealing above the upper transformation temperature, i.e. above the A3 line in the Fe-C phase diagram, in a controlled atmosphere).
The properties must be checked from the applicable standard. Nevertheless, the room temperature mechanical properties are roughly as follows (according to DIN EN 10305-1):
YS => 355 MPa
UTS = 490-630 MPa
Total elongation => 22%
