Question Average daily temperatures for one city, located at 15° south latitude, are 5°C cooler than average daily temperatures for a second city, located at 30° south latitude. What might account for the cooler temperatures in the first city, which lies so near the equator?

Could be the first city is at a higher elevation or near the ocean; the answer probably would be the higher elevation because the temperature falls as you rise in elevation where the ocean temperature could vary its influence by month:
