Question
With all of the current advances in related technology, from satellite monitoring to super-computer data storage and analytic capability, how long might it be until local weather three or four-day forecasts could be truly reliable?  In my locale, they flip-flop wildly until the actual day's forecast which, itself, is often inaccurate.

Answer
Hi David

The "current" advances are now slow in coming in that most real progress occurred 15 to 30 years ago.

However, the models are tweaked and slow progress occurs periodically.

The "flip-flop" may be due to some geographical feature that impacts your local weather. What is your location?
