Mexican Law/extended stay non resident spousal visa

I am married to a Mexican citizen. I am a US citizen. My first trip after getting married in September the immigration officer cut my stay from 180 days (the normal length) to 10 days. Is there a visa that I can obtain that will allow me to pass without issue? I don't want to reside there just yet, it will be 6 years before considering this as I will retire in that time. I am asking because I don't want the issue to arise that they deny me entry because I am married to a Mexican citizen but not living in Mexico. He will eventually (I hope) move here until I retire and then we will both go to live permanently in Mexico.

Thanks for any help.

Before anything else, thanks for writing me at

You both must notify to Mexican Migration Office about your marriage.

You can get a permission to travel and stay in Mexico. Is not permanent residence, is a permission to live and travel in Mexico.

Please contact Migration Office and explain your case showing your marriage certificate and passports.

Any doubt or another question, let me know it please.
