Mexican Law/Marriage

I am an American citizen who married at 16 in Mexico. I was later
divorced in the USA but not in Mexico.  Am I still considered to be married in Mexico?

Dear Linda,

Yes, according to Mexican Law, you are still married. You are not officially divorced until a copy of the divorce decree is delivered to the Registro Civil where the original marriage certificate is stored and a marginal notation of the divorce is made on the original certificate.
