QUESTION: My Mexican partner as shared my house with me now for 5 years. Can I gave her power of attorney to sell the house on my behalf as to avoid capital gains. As a foreigner living in Mexico I am not sure what legal right my common law wife as. Thank You I await your reply

Yes, you can. A Power of Attorney signed off at Mexican Notary Office.

If you have common goods with your wife, she can gets until 50 percent of all goods. Under US Law and Mexican Law.

If you want residence, you need await 5 years living in Mexico continuously.
