Mexican Law/How paternity is established in Mexico

If a child is born in Mexico and the parents were not married, is paternity established by the father' name being listed on the child's Mexican birth certificate?

Hi Jason,

The short answer is yes. The man listed as father on the birth certificate will be legally obligated to suport the child and the child will have the right to use the father's surname and to inherit the property of the father in the case of intestate sucession.
