Mexican Law/Mexican passport and visa

QUESTION: my grandmother brought me here to u.s with Mexican passport and a tourist visa. I never returned to Mexico. I no longer have actual passport it got stolen Is there any way to get some sort of proof that I had one?

ANSWER: Hi, your nearest Mexican consulate can help you as they can issue Mexican passports and now with changes in Mexico they can issue you a birth certificate there.

QUESTION: I have a birth certificate but I'm going through ins case and I need proof that I entered legally.

The only way would be to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to USCIS and Customs and Border Patrol to get a copy of their entry records for you as they are the agency of the US government who would track you as a foreigner.

They are currently lagging with requests taking 2 to 7 months to respond to.
