Question
Hello, I understand that the state of Jalisco have a site where one can check the records of marriage.

I would like to check the existence of a divorce,  but I am not residing in Mexico, and neither do I have a bank card from any Mexican banks if payment is required.

Would you be able to advise how I can check and confirm the divorce?

Answer
Hi,  there are two ways to check divorce records.  You can go to a civil registry that is linked with the others and search by party names and get a copy of the divorce certificate.  I dont know how far back the records go as it can vary by municipality.

The other option is to use the online ruling search engine from a specific judicial district.  there is a public one for the courts in the greater Guadalajara area http://cjj.gob.mx/consultas/boletin but you cant really search by name, there is a private service that you can search by names and a few searches are free at this site http://www.buholegal.com/info_monitoreo/

Best wishes.
