Question I am going to be staying at the Riu Palace in Cabo in the middle of February with 3 other people, couple questions:
1) What is the cheapest method of transportation from the airport to the hotel?
2) How far is Cabo Wabo from the hotel?
3) Where is the shopping district located? Is it far from the hotel?
4) Someone told me not to eat the fruit - what are your thoughts?
Answer 1)Check with who you booked your hotel through, as most travel companies include transfers. Otherwise, contact Epic Los Cabos http://www.epic.com.mx/loscabos.htm to see about arranging transfers.
2)You are a short distance from Cabo Wabo, a taxi will cost around $15 each way to go into town.
3)Best shopping is in Cabo San Lucas, however there is great shopping in the quieter town of San Jose del Cabo, which is considerably further away. Taxi cost to get there is about $35 each way.
4)eat all the fruit you like, I did! As with all areas of Mexico, I typically recommend my clients not eat food from street vendors, as they rinse their fruit and veges with local water, that may or may not be filtered. While on property at the Riu or at restaurants like Cabo Wabo, Hard Rock and El Squid Roe, your food is prepared with filtered water, so you are less likely to get that nasty stomach crud. If you are prone to stomach ailments, you may want to eat 2 rolaids before you eat food, as it helps coat the stomach. Be sure to bring the normal over the counter meds for tummy ailments, as Pepto-Bismal and Imodium, just in case you need it!
