Experience I have traveled many times to Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and the Mayan Riviera, as well as Cozumel. I have been selling vacations to these destinations for many years and I travel to many of the resorts in these popular tourist destinations about once a year.
Question My fiance and I are planning to get married in Mexico because of the abundance of "all-inclusive" resorts. I have heard several so many good things about different resorts and it seems overwhelming for me to dig into to researching ALL resorts without having gone there. We have been leaning toward the Moon Palace in Cancun. We definitely want to get married on the beach and we have a few children that will be joining the party. Are there any other resorts that are worth looking into? How can I find/trust a wedding coordinator at the site and/or one to take care of the travel plans for us and guests? We will be flying out of DFW and we were looking at the end of Nov. 2009.
Any advice would help
Thank you kindly!
Answer The way to trust someone with your wedding plans is to work with a travel agent that knows what they are doing. I would highly recommend...ME :-)
I have worked with the Moon Palace and the Iberostar's on destination weddings. And I can highly recommend them both! Moon Palace offers free weddings so depending on your budget this may be something to consider.
One thing to consider about a wedding in Mexico is all that is required. I have done both "legal" and "religious/non-legal" ceremonies. Preference is to get legally married in the states before you leave, and then just do a religous ceremony when you get there. No one needs to know that the ceremony in Mexico wasn't your legal wedding. The reason I encourage this is because you have to have to arrive 4 days before your wedding, you have to have blood tests at the resort, and you have to have your birth certificates transferred into Spanish so that again is an extra cost.
I don't charge for my services as I get paid by the resorts, so if you would like my assitance, please feel free to email me direct. I hope to hear from you soon!
