Question
Hi,

My husband and I are looking to stay 5 nights in Puerto Vallarta or near it
(Nuevo Vallarta?). We are looking to go in October. We are not into partying
and want to stay somewhere all inclusive with more than just buffet options.
We would like an awesome pool with swim up bar and possibly lazy river,
great beach, very comfortable king size bed. New or remodeled recently.
Ocean view with veranda. 4 or 5 stars. Good value for the money. Secluded
area would be nice. We don't want a crowded or party atmosphere. We are
interested in some snorkeling, hiking, maybe horseback riding and hanging
out by pool and beach (w/out being bombarded by time share people or
vendors). Is there anywhere that can accommodate all this? Thanks!!

Answer
Hello!

I can highly recommend the Grand Velas, for luxury and great food, pool and beach and away from the crowds!  The Riu Palace Pacifico is scheduled to open the first week of October.  It will be brand new and will have some great grand opening specials.  But along with that comes the minor problems that often accompany grand openings, such as lack of knowledge by the staff, perhaps not a fully stocked bar or some items such as water sports may not be in, etc.  But, then again everything could be just fine!  This is the chance you take when you choose to stay at a resort during Grand Opening.  Another option would be the Vallarta Palace.  It is relatively new, and has a great pool.  Oh and I almost forgot about the Grand Mayan, it does have a lazy river, but they are pushy with their timeshare pitches.

If you are interested in the Riviera Maya area that is just south of Cancun, I can Highly recommend the Iberostar Parasio Lindo.  It has a lazy river, amazing beach, lots of dining options as well.  If you want adult only their sister property is right next to them (Iberostar Grand) and is GORGEOUS!  Plus you have full use of the Lindo properties.

I would love to help you figure out what destination and resort will fit your desires.  I can't post prices here so if you would like my help, please email me direct and be sure to include your travel dates as well as where you are flying.  I don't charge for my services as I get paid by the hotels, just like the big companies like Expedia and Travelocity, only I know what I am selling ;-)

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
