About Pamela Thompson
Expertise
I have lived in Puerto Vallarta for 17 years, full time, originally from the United States. I have a lot of great information on the area, and surrounding areas that I enjoy sharing with people planning their vacation to Puerto Vallarta. Unique and interesting facts and hints on the area. As well, I am the Patient and International Services Coordinator at a hospital here in Vallarta so I am happy to assist with healthcare questions.

Experience
No great accomplishments, just that I have lived here, year round for many years!

Mexico - 2 or 3 day trip from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalahara

Expert: Pamela Thompson - 10/4/2009

Question
We have planned a 2 week stay in PV for 12/22/09 to 1/6/10, staying at the Villa Del Palmar.  We would like to go to Guadalahara for 2 or three days prior to our stay in PV. We can schedule our flights to to arrive a few days early to accomodate the trip to Guadalahara.  You used to help arrange these trips.  Do you still?  What would you reccomend?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi and thank you for your question.
The best way to get between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta is via bus. The ETN line (First Class) is the best. Comfortable, large and inexpensive. Remember though that this will be one of the busiest times of the year for bus travel throughout Mexico so it's better if you reserve your seats ahead of time. It is about a 5 hour trip between Vallarta and Guadalajara. The bus station in Puerto Vallarta (Called "CENTRO) is just a bit north of the airport and has plenty of taxi's to take you to your hotel, 24 hours per day.
The website for ET is http://www.etn.com.mx/ Of course it is in Spanish but in the upper right hand corner you can switch it to English.
I don't arrange trips but it is easy to do on your own.
You are welcome to email me at pmt15@hotmail.com with further questions. Thanks, Pamela - PV
