Question Is your hospital set up for patients who contract the H1N1 flu?
Is there a doctor I could set up an appointment with who could
advise me on what to do for protection and what to do and where
to go if I contract the H1N1 virus. Is PUerto Vallarta set up
to deal with severe cases if they happen?
Thank you. Dana
Answer Dana,
Puerto Vallarta has 6 private, state-of-the-art hospitals so there is no need to worry about good care.
If someone thinks they have the swine flu, they can go to any lab and have the nose swab/testing done. Results are ready in a couple of hours. If it shows positive, then you can go to any emergency room of any private hospital for treatment. It would be a rare case that SHOULD you have H1N1 that you would need to be admitted. We do have Tamiful but it is only available via prescription from a physician.
Yes, we are completely set up to deal with severe cases.
The swine flu is no more rampant here than anywhere else in the world. There are many more cases in other locations worldwide than here in Puerto Vallarta.
