Question
We will be staying in PV and then San Slas for 5 nights. What is the best way to get there? Rent a car or bus or Taxi? do you know the cost for a taxi as we probably won't really need a car once we are there.

San Blas is 230 miles by road, via Tepic, a bit less via the coast, but worse roads. A taxi would cost you a fortune.
The bus TAP (http://www.tap.com.mx/) takes about 2.5 hours to Tepic, change to a San Blas bus, about an hour, probably with Transportes Norte de Sonora , who may have a few direct busses  from PV.
