is there a bus to and from puerto vallarta and jala

Well, it's on the way to Guadalajara so ETN or Pacifico should go there.
ETN doesn't show it as a stop http://www.etn.com.mx/
Neither does Pacifico http://secure.primeraplus.com.mx/FAPWEB/Default.aspx?alias=secure.primeraplus.co...
but that doesn't mean they won't stop for you.
