Question
My husband is a welder in the U.S, but plans to go to Mexico and needs to know how much a structural welder can make per week or month.

Answer
Kimberly,

I have done a little research and it appears that a welder may be able to earn between 4,000 and 10,000 pesos per month. The one thing I do know for sure is that whatever he does earn will depend on the city in which he works, the company that employs him, his skill level, and the type of welding he does, among other things.

If he has any contacts in Mexico, he should ask them. The best way to learn the range of options available is to ask someone in the field. Personal contacts can really help out when it comes to job searches in Mexico.

Here's a link to a site that listed salaries: http://mexico.trovit.com/empleo/soldador-mig

You can search on the internet using the key words "soldador salario pesos Mexico" and other similar combinations.

Remember, that if he is not a Mexican citizen he will also need a work permit.
